Halloween is less than 3 weeks away, and I don't have a costume yet. Fortunately, I do have a couple of black hoodies in the closet. In a pinch like this, I don't see any reason why I should go out and spent a lot of money on an adult Halloween costume. With a plain black hooded sweatshirt and some strategic face painting, I'm sure I could easily be a pretty convincing skeleton or zombie. Or heck, since we all know how fond criminals are of black hoodies, I could always just pretend to be a future jail bird.
In past years, I haven't bothered to dress up. I just push the stroller and walk along with all the the other parents. However, this year will be one of my kid's last year of trick or treating (he's getting too old), and another ones first year that she will remember (was only 3 months old last year). As such, it would be a shame not to get into the spirit. I'm not quite sure what type of costumes the kids will wear ... that's a decision that my wife will make, and I probably have very little say in. Somehow I doubt they'll be wearing plain black hoodies ... but I have seen some pretty cool fleece hooded costumes in the store around town.
It's probaby a moot point anyway ... I wouldn't be at all shocked if we end up with something along the lines of a Ninja, Hanna Montana, and Baby Bop. In any case, I think I'm probably looking forward to the candy as much as the kids are.
So what will you and your kids be wearing this all hallow's eve?
